Ombra is one of my favorites when it comes to an authentic, delicious dining experience. The service is always very good and the staff is super friendly. In terms of food, you won’t find anything like it anywhere else; Ombra prides itself on using traditional recipes passed down through generations, so every dish they serve is like a taste of home. A few personal favorites include their Burrata appetizer with sun-dried tomatoes and basil pesto, fresh pumpkin gnocchi with sage butter sauce (mmm!), and pappardelle Bolognese (with housemade pasta). The River café won a Michelin Star in 1998 that’s why is famous more than other restaurants. River Café was established in 1987. The River Café is certainly one you won’t want to miss. Set on a barge moored on the Thames and once listed as one of Britain’s top 50 restaurants, it offers contemporary dishes made from locally sourced ingredients—many from its garden. Try their specialty dishes including fillet steak and risotto with lovage, turnip tops, and sea rocket (also known as salvia). I like visiting during sunset hours so I can dine at one of their outdoor tables as I watch Big Ben light up.
